PLFSS: a final 49-3 committed in final reading in the Assembly

The Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, announced on Wednesday to the deputies that she was committing, for the fifth and last time, the responsibility of her government on the entire Social Security Financing Bill (PLFSS) for 2023 in final reading.

The four member groups of the Nupes made it known that they would table a joint motion of censure, which could be examined as early as Friday afternoon. If such a motion were to be rejected, which is the most plausible hypothesis given the failure of all those tabled by the oppositions after the 49-3 procedure was used on the budget texts for 2023, the PLFSS would then be considered as definitively adopted by Parliament.

The text submitted to the deputies for final reading, and the one for which the government is responsible, is the version considered to have been adopted on Monday by the Assembly on new reading, given its rejection by the Senate on Tuesday.
