MICHEL VERHASSELT
Founder & President/CEO
Holder of a Master’s degree in business administration and health economics from the Université catholique de Lille (Catholic University of Lille), he founded Meditech Access in 2012.
Michel is a recognised and experienced expert in the field of health economics, market access, coding (activity-based pricing and PMSI) and reimbursement.
For almost 30 years, he has held positions, both internationally and locally, for the medical device industry, healthcare providers and insurance companies. He has contributed his expertise to renowned companies such as Johnson and Johnson, Baxter, Linde, Allianz/World Aid and Edward Lifesciences. He has successfully managed the financing and reimbursement of groundbreaking innovations such as transcutaneous aortic valves (TAVI) in France, Benelux and Switzerland, resulting in significant TAVI pricing and appropriate care. He has developed an expertise in market access in various therapeutic areas, including diabetes, renal therapies, medical gases, wound healing, pain, respiratory, intensive care, interventional cardiology and e-health.
CLAIRE MOREAU
Partner & General Manager - Market Access
Qualified pharmacist, Claire joined MediTech Access in 2013 as Market Access Director and is acting as General Manager since 2017. She participates in the definition of the strategy and development objectives of the strategy consulting firm of Market Access. It must guarantee the quality of operation, development, and integrity of the Cabinet while respecting the founding values and guidelines defined by the Presidency.
Claire is recognised as an expert in medical writing. She has extensive experience in reimbursement, gained in positions in French subsidiaries within the healthcare industry. A former attaché at the Paris Hospitals, she then brought her expertise to companies such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Sanofi-Aventis, Baxter and Leo Pharma for the last 15 years. She has also worked as a consultant at Carré Castan Consultants or as a Project Manager at AFSSAPS/ANSM. She has successfully managed the financing and reimbursement of drugs and medical devices in France and negotiations with health authorities. She has also contributed to the definition of the best market access strategies and developed her expertise in market access in various therapeutic areas, including renal therapy, anaesthesia, cardiology, oncology, nutrition, immunology, pneumology, rare diseases and diabetes.
PIERRE RAVINET
Market Access - Associate Director
Pierre joined MediTech Access in 2023, to support Claire with Charles in team management.
Pierre is a hospital pharmacist by training. As a former resident of Paris hospitals, he has 3-years' experience in different departments (notably, medical devices & sterilization, clinical trial & outpatients managing, chemotherapy production). He holds a university diploma in oncologic clinical pharmacy (University of Paris Descartes).
Prior to MediTech Access, Pierre worked for 4 years as a consultant, then senior consultant for Biodimed Conseils, where he supported clients in their market access activities for drugs and other health products, such as early access, reimbursement and price negotiations.
OUASSIM NAIET EL GAIED
Senior Market Access Consultant & Business Development Manager
Ouassim, a pharmacist since 2016 with a Master's in international regulatory affairs and a diploma in market access and health economics, brings a wealth of experience to our team. Joining us in 2021, he now leverages his extensive background to assist MedTech companies and Start-ups in France, ensuring early access and reimbursement for their innovations.
He initially honed his skills as a resident pharmacist in Tunisia, working with hospitals and health authorities for 3 years. He then specialized in Market Access. His corporate journey includes positions at Air Liquide Healthcare International and BioSerenity, where he managed Market Access projects in digital health.
DIANA BIRLAN
Market Access Consultant
Diana joined the MediTech Access team in 2024, as a consultant. She has a double degree, in Biomedical Engineering and in Market Access. She has a 10-year experience in the Medical Device industry, in several therapeutic areas such as ENT, anesthesia, ICU, surgery, cardiology, radiotherapy...
She is currently working on a wide range of strategic projects concerning market access, pricing and tariffs negotiations for medical devices in all types of therapeutic areas.
JULIEN CIROT
Market Access - Junior Consultant
Julien Cirot completed a pharmacy program at the University of Nantes, specializing in the industrial sector during his fourth year. He gained his first experience in market access during a fifth-year internship, contributing to the development of the newly launched PECAN at Oviva France. Julien further advanced his expertise with a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Market Access and Health Economics Evaluation from Paris Dauphine University, complemented by a work-study program at Medtronic.
AMINE YAHIA
Market Access - Junior Consultant
In November 2023, Amine joined the team MediTech Access as a consultant. Currently engaged in nationwide market access projects, he is dedicated to various therapeutic areas, making a substantial contribution to the valuation of medical devices and digital health products.
In addition to his pharmacist title, Amine also holds a Master's degree in General Economics from the University of Paris-Cité, followed by a Master's degree in Economics Outcomes Research & Market Access from the University of Dauphine. During his studies, he acquired essential skills to apply economic concepts and statistics in the healthcare field, particularly in health economics evaluation, pricing, and reimbursement of health products.
His expertise has grown throughout his journey, notably during a semester-long internship at the pharmaceutical laboratory BAYER, where he deepened his knowledge and developed specific skills in drug market access. This experience was complemented by a year at the consulting firm AliraHealth, further consolidating his expertise in the field.
ROMANE LE CAM
Market Access - Junior Consultant
Romane first joined MediTech Access as an intern in April 2024, where she had the opportunity to develop her skills in market access and health economics across various therapeutic areas and types of medical devices, including digital health solutions. Following this formative experience, she transitioned to an apprenticeship role within the company in September 2024 as part of her 6th year of pharmacy studies and her master's degree in Health Economic Evaluation and Market Access at the University of Paris-Dauphine. What she enjoys most about her role is the diversity of the projects she works on and the chance to contribute to patient access to innovative healthcare solutions.
LEA LIZORET
Public Affairs - Junior Consultant
Lea joined the Meditech Access team in September 2024 as a junior public affairs consultant. After obtaining a degree in history and political science from the Institut Catholique de Paris, she went on to do a master's degree in European studies at La Sorbonne-Nouvelle Paris 3, during which she specialised in public health policies.
After completing her end-of-studies placement with the public affairs firm Boury, Tallon & Associés, Léa decided to deepen her expertise as a junior consultant to develop our public affairs offering.
During the pandemic, she was EU manager for the CoronaNet research project, funded by the Horizon 2020 programme, which aimed to develop a database on government responses to the coronavirus.
AURANE APARICIO
Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) - Junior Consultant
Aurane is an economist and PhD student in economics, currently working as a market access consultant. Specializing in market and mechanism design, Aurane focuses on creating systems that improve decision-making and drive economic progress. Her expertise spans a variety of topics, including organ markets, mutual insurance, blockchain, and now market access.
Aurane has also taught university courses, leading tutorials in microeconomics and game theory. Motivated by the challenge of turning complex analyses into actionable strategies, Aurane thrives on innovating within dynamic environments and collaborating with passionate teams.
Desiree PACHECO PEÑAFLOR
Communication & Business development Associate
Desiree joined MediTech Access in 2024, leveraging her expertise in business development and strategic communication within the healthcare sector. With a Master's degree in International Business from Université Paris Dauphine-PSL and an M1-MBA from IAE Paris-Est, she combines a strong academic foundation with a passion for fostering partnerships and crafting impactful strategies.
In her role, Desiree excels in driving initiatives that enhance MediTech Access’s visibility, strengthen its partnerships, and support its business growth. She thrives on the diversity of projects, particularly those that blend business development with innovative communication approaches to deliver meaningful results.
MARION JOUAN
Administrative and Financial Manager
Marion joined MediTech Access in 2016. Her mission is to plan, manage and organise the administrative, financial and accounting activities of the company. She coordinates the proper execution of the strategy and procedures defined with the general management. She is also the advisor to the structure's managers.
With a non-specialist graduate background, Marion began her career in marketing and communication in the media field. Involved in the creation of a small French business start-up, she decided to turn to corporate administration, delivering outsourced services for seven years.
MARIE-HELENE NICOLAS
Administrative Assistant
Marie-Hélène joined our team in 2023 to strengthen our Administrative Department.
Marie Hélène is an experienced management professional, having worked as Director of the Saint-Louis Center within the Senegalese Association for the Protection of Mentally Handicapped Children from 2016 to 2020. She played a crucial role in preventing the center's closure by managing administrative, financial, staff recruitment and fundraising aspects. Prior to this, she worked at Faurecia in the automotive industry and as assistant to the Human Resources Director at Weight Watchers. Her career has been marked by her commitment to social causes and her skills in project management, administration and development. She has trilingual language skills and an aptitude for teamwork.
